For sale: a T5 model Transporter that has been a reliable vehicle for five years. It has been used as an everyday work commute vehicle and has never failed on a trip. Considering its age, the body is relatively tidy. Painted below the window line 5 years ago, with touch-ups made as needed since. The paintwork is not top-grade.

Services have been carried out according to schedule, either by the owner or at a garage when necessary. Most recent oil change/service at 447,176 km. Timing belt replaced at 421,233 km.

The interior is also relatively tidy. Seats are intact and need cleaning, which hasn’t been done due to freezing temperatures.

Regarding faults: the Webasto heater works while driving but will not start from the timer. The clock activates the burner and the interior fan but does not ignite the burner. Diagnosis: the Webasto water pump does not start turning.

Some warning lights (ABS, traction control, brake pad wear) sometimes illuminate. Occasionally the engine revs have dropped. Damp, wet air usually seems to be involved. However, all faults clear when the ignition is switched off and the vehicle restarted; no fault codes remain stored. This issue has been present for the entire time I’ve owned the vehicle and has neither worsened nor improved.
